finally, it’s the winter solstice. the shortest day of the year. which means that the days will start to lengthen at last. hurrah!

a number (though not all by any means) of the commenters at least on this blog seem to share my life stage, which is at the hectic family-focused point.

if that’s where you are, far be it from me to dare to suggest that you add anything (or anyone?!) to your To Do list right now. but often in the run-up to Christmas it is easy to think that it is all about the children. and we forget that one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is that of a strong marriage – and that the mummy-daddy sheet monster game can be an important part of that…

and I know not everyone who reads this will be in this scenario, or perhaps even wish to be, so feel free, as ever, to ignore me. but if you are lucky enough to have a significant other with whom you can share it tonight, or any other night, then perhaps you might like to consider adding some passion and spice to your evening with a Solstice Special mocktail?

and if one thing should lead to another? well, it is the longest night of the year 😉
